MySQL has always been used under high load. Not without reason this database was and still is the most popular backend for web. However, our understanding of the hilde is expanding every year. Higher data transfer rate -> more devices with internet connection -> more users -> more data.
Tasks faced by MySQL developers are becoming more and more complex each year.
In this presentation I will tell you how MySQL usage scenarios have changed over [almost] 25 years of its history and what engineers have done to keep MySQL up-to-date. We will cover topics such as working with a large number of active connections and high volumes of data. I will show you how modern versions cope better with increased loads.
I hope that after my presentation those students who use older versions will want to upgrade and those who have already upgraded will learn how to use modern MySQL at full capacity.
