2021 Events

One of the virtual events Percona was happy to support this year was Nerdearla 2021, the most important IT conference in the Latin American region.

This video from Percona MeetUp for MongoDB of October 20th talk about backups, scalability, security, MongoDB 5.0, and more. Percona encourages its staff members to actively collaborate with universities and local communities. Evgeniy Patlan (Manager, Build & Release Engineering) is one of those who enjoy active communication with local students and those who would like to become more familiar with modern open source technologies. In October, he participated in the student training which took place in the Ukrainian National University “Chernihiv Polytechnic”.

Percona Team participated in ATO (All Things Open) in Raleigh Convention Center on October 17th - 19th.

Community MeetUp for PostgreSQL was live stream on Oct 13th at 11:00am EDT to talk about how to improve your database performance with appropriated tools for monitoring and optimization. Here are the full recording and transcript :

The Community MeetUp for MySQL on Oct 6th 2021 was about MySQL basics for prod environment starting from the system level and monitoring with PMM or Zabbix and backups. In addition, it was a great talk how to enable MySQL Audit Logging and to view the output. Watch the video here!

The Community MeetUp for PMM was an extraordinary one-hour Live Broadcast MeetUp from the OSS Summit on last Sept 29th, to talk about open source databases, observability and monitoring MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL with PMM. Percona Team participated in the OSS event organized by Linux Foundation in Seattle in Hyatt Regency Hotel on September 27-30. It was really exciting for all of us to start meeting in person with customers, community members, and teammates as well!

Matt Yonkovit hosted the Percona MeetUp for MongoDB on September 22nd with Vinodh Krishnaswamy, Support Engineer at Percona, to talk about “MongoDB sharded Cluster- best practices” and Ege Güneş, Software Engineer at Percona, to discuss “Cross-regional replication for MongoDB with Kubernetes”. Percona sponsored the OSDN Conf Kyiv which was held in person in the Nivki-hal on September 18th. It was a one-day non-commercial, volunteer-organized event centered on free and open-source software. Mykola Marzhan (Director of Server Engineering, Percona) and Evgeniy Patlan (Manager of Build & Release Engineering, Percona) are the main organizers of the conference.
