About All Things Open

All Things Open is the largest open source conference on the US East Coast. It covers the tools, processes, and people that make open source work, from licensing and governance to infrastructure, observability, and AI.

The organizers have been running events built around open source and in-person community since 2012. Beyond the main conference, the same team runs open source meetups across Raleigh-Durham, South Carolina, and New York City, plus We ❤ Open Source, a community education site for contributed tutorials and how-tos. All Things Open is also a Certified B Corporation.

What makes open source work: Licensing and beyond

Speaker: Peter Farkas

An open source license is the starting point, not the full picture. Peter looks at what else decides whether a project is worth adopting for the long term: whether binaries are available, how good the documentation is, how the project is governed, and how big and active its community is. If you evaluate open source projects for production use, or maintain one, this talk gives you a sharper set of questions to ask.

eBPF for AI-powered root cause analysis

Speaker: Peter Zaitsev

More telemetry doesn’t fix incidents faster. Peter covers how eBPF gives you deep, low-overhead visibility into running systems, and how to pair that telemetry with AI techniques to get from “something’s wrong” to a diagnosis faster than dashboards and alerts alone. Expect practical architectures, real use cases, and the pitfalls to avoid when you point AI at observability data.

Visit us at booth 52

Stop by booth 52 to talk with the Percona team about running MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Valkey in production. Bring the problem you’re stuck on: a replication issue, a backup strategy, a slow query, or a Kubernetes deployment that isn’t behaving. We’d rather talk through your real setup than give you a pitch.

Not attending? You can still reach the same people on the Percona Community Slack or the Percona Community Forums.
